Barring Croydon South & Central, constituencies across ELL boroughs suffered extremely poor voter turnout during the 2005 elections.

In particular, out of a total of 646 constituencies across the country, Poplar & Canning Town came in 637th place for voter turnout in the 2005 election, with just 46% of the population turning out to register their vote. Out of 10 ELL constituencies, 8 had a voter turnout below 60% in the 2005 elections. Seven constituencies were also amongst the worst 20% for voter turnout in the country in 2005.
