Murder inquiry launched after man shot dead in Lewisham

A man has died after being shot in Lewisham yesterday, police have said.

Police have began a murder inquiry after a man was shot dead in Lewisham.

The emergency servives  were called to Oslac Road, SE6, just after midnight on Tuesday after reports of a shooting.

The 35-year-old victim was taken to Kings College Hospital in Denmark Hill, but was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

He has not yet been formally identified, as police await official confirmation and inform next of kin, but locally he has been named as ‘Michael.’

The incident is being treated as murder, and is under investigation by officers from Operation Trident, but so far no arrests have been made.
