London mayoral candidate Oona King launched her cultural policy in east London this week.
She came to the E17 art trail in Walthamstow to launch her strategy for culture in London and see the art being created in one of the outer London boroughs.
Ms King said that the Walthamstow Tapestry (After Grayson Perry) and the other work on the art trail showed “how brilliantly local organisations, groups and artists can contribute to London flourishing as a mecca for the arts.”
The E17 art trail runs from Friday 3 September to Sunday 12 September and is a collection of work by over 1,200 Walthamstow artists in 120 different venues across the borough.
For more info see our you tube video here.
The work includes workshops, tea parties and street parties and artists’ open houses.
Below are some events on the art trail running at the weekend, but for full listings go to www.e17artrail.co.uk or email info@e17arttrail.co.uk
