A 16-year-old boy who was chased into a takeaway in Poplar and stabbed several times is now in a stable condition in hospital.
It was revealed last night by the Metropolitain police that the boy’s condition has improved. His condition was initially declared critical after the attack at 21.25 on Saturday night.
On the night of the attack the boy, who lives locally, was with friends when they were approached by someone from another group, who pursued them.
The victim’s friends scattered as he ran into the EFC takeaway on Burdett Road, followed by an estimated 3 or 4 youths who then stabbed him.
Officers are appealing for witnesses of the assault.
