Whilst an estimated 1million people will flock to the pavements around Westminster Abbey to catch a glimpse of the soon to be newly-weds, many of you will have decided to celebrate today’s festivitites a little closer to home.

Alternative Royal Wedding at the Queen of Hoxton:
As well as having live coverage of the wedding on the rooftop, the Queen of party is putting on a “right ol knees up” in honour of the newly weds. Expect an embarrassing Uncle Dave, ukulele band, OTT wedding cake, crazy croquet and a tipsy Vicar! In the evening there will be the Soulbrew Karaoke crew will be hosting a royal wedding special.

The Kate and William Croquet Cup in Victoria Park:
Croquet East is hosting a doubles tournament for all abilities, with prizes for the best dressed team, in honour of the royal couple.

The Leonard Street Royal Wedding Party
This is expected to be the biggest street party in Shoreditch, so collect your wristband quickly. There will be a live screening of the nuptials, an egg-and-spoon race and tug-ofwar. In the evening the party continues at the Book Club.

A fun family event with outdoors screens and a lively market.
Royal Wedding Weekend at St Katherine Docks
On Thursday night there will be a “stag and hen” do in honour of the royal couple, then on the day of the wedding there will be a live screening of the services followed by live music, food and drink. In the evening classic wedding films will be screened.

Funny talks about the history of royal weddings, screening from the East-end film festival and live entertainment from the Pearly King and Queen of Bow. All washed down with Ale from the Truman Brewery.
