E-fit image of violent burglary suspect

Suspect 3 in Hackney aggravated burglary. E-fit: Met Police

The Metropolitan Police have issued an E-fit image of a suspect they want to interview in connection with a violent burglary in Merriam Avenue in early April.

At 1 a.m on April 10th a 22 year old woman heard a noise coming from outside her property that sounded like her gate being opened. She opened the front door and was confronted by a male suspect who produced a handgun. They both went into the property where her 22 year old man brother was also staying.

She was made to lie down on the ground. Two further male suspects entered the property and attacked her brother. All three suspects then went from room to room, finding another brother, who is 32 years old, asleep in one of the bedrooms. The police say the gang continued to threaten and beat the victims. They stole cash, two mobile phones and fled in a black Ford Fiesta.

The e-fit shows Suspect 3 – described as a black man, 30 to 40 years old, with a black/grey beard.

The 32 year old brother was taken to hospital for treatment to an injury caused by being hit over the head with the gun, and later discharged himself.

The police say there have been no arrests up to the present time, but anyone with information on the crime is asked to call DC Matt Birt on 020 7275 3232.  If anyone wishes to remain anonymous they can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
