Head down to Stoke Newington to celebrate the first birthday of Andrew Weatherall’s club night at The Drop.

With producing credits on Primal Scream’s seminal album Screamadelica, Weatherall is one of the founding acid house DJs in the UK.

He now has a penchant for rockabilly, disco and all things eclectic, which should go down well with the crowd.

Doors open 10.00pm – late.

The Black Sheep Bar features in The Guardian’s top ten of live venues, they described it as “an oasis in a desert of terrible chart tunes”.

Open your ears to some new music as some of Europe’s leading indie record labels set up stalls in this famous London market.

For one day only relive the heady days when Berwick Street, in the heart of Soho, was bustling with independent music shops. Browse the stalls, listen to new music and watch live performances. You might also be served by label bosses, including Jeff Travis from Rough Trade.

Loads of record labels will be present, including Domino, Rough Trade, Wall of Sound,  and XL. Highlights include a stall by Angular Recording Corporation (set up by two former Goldsmiths students). They’ll be selling the few remaining copies of their first ever compilation, ‘The New Cross – An Angular Sampler’ compilation featuring Bloc Party’s debut track last copies of Klaxons debut single ‘Gravity’s Rainbow’.

Hackney’s own Bella Union (Fleet Foxes) will have signed copies of Explosions in the Sky, Marques Toliver and Midlake, plus a hand crafted fanzine and karaoke cassette.

Scratch showcases a variety of performances including comedy, poetry, stories, sketches and short plays, this regular night is never the same as the last!

Sunday’s acts include ‘Liebestod, Liebesleben’, a live puppet play based on ‘The Bloody Chamber’ and ‘The Loves of Lady Purple’ by Angela Carter. There’s also story telling with resident Superbad, performance poet Matt Dunphy, and ‘Brockelhurst’ a short play by Howard Colyer.

Doors at 6.00pm.

The Alibi Film Club screening of documentary film ‘Groupies’ follows groupies as they hang out back stage and in the tour bus, in their quest to bed their musical heroes.

It features legendary groupie Cynthia Plaster Caster, who now makes plaster casts of intimate parts of rocks stars’ anatomy.

The film was shot in 1970, and features music from Joe Cocker, Ten Years After and Spooky Tooth.

Doors open 7.00pm. Film starts 8.00pm. Free Entry.

London Based artist Franko B has been working for the past two decades with various forms of art including performance, photography, traditional paint, installations and sculpture.

This exhibition at The Nunnery Gallery is Franko B’s first solo exhibition in London for seven years, after a stint at the Pavilion of Contemporary Art in Milan.

I Still Love is a collection of canvases based on Franko B’s central themes of intimacy, eroticism, compassion pain and death.

Remains open until 5th June 2011 (Friday – Sunday from 1.00pm – 5.00pm).
