PC Nigel Albuery, the Croydon police constable who was stabbed on Thursday evening, has been discharged from hospital, the Met Police has confirmed. PC Albuery of the Broad Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team was attacked in Bute Road, Waddon, on Thursday at around 9.45 pm. He was stabbed in the stomach four times.

The Met Police was unable to confirm that the officer suffered “life changing kidney damage”, as the Croydon Guardian reported yesterday.

18-year-old Alastair Gregson was charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent in a hearing at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.  The teenager remains in custody and is set to appear at a preliminary hearing at Croydon Crown Court on 2 June.
