A new Sixth Form college in Coulsdon opened its doors to the community last weekend. The college on Placehouse Lane will take up to 1,300 students. The 40 million pounds building was completed four months ahead and within budget.

Students and staff already moved to the new building complex last month. New students will be able to attend from September.

The community are also invited to use the college’s facilities.

Principal David Goodlet, who managed the project, said staff and contractors have worked hard to finish the new building with minimal disruption for the residents. He added:

“As with big projects of this kind we know there would be the occasional disturbance,
but the local community has been wonderfully supportive.”
