Speakeasies have been around since the prohibition era. Now we’ve moved into the 21st century and they have made a huge comeback. This bar has received rave reviewers from Londoners across the capital. On Thursday nights they have live music and you can sample cocktails with fantastic names such as ‘Silk Stockings’ and ‘The Wibble’ so don your best ‘20s get up and join the party! Booking is highly recommended.

Cargo is the newest place to party in East London on a Friday night. This new club night kicked off to a massive start last week and this week promises to be even better. Resident DJ Shane Watcha will be spinning the biggest tunes to get your weekend started. Every week will see Shane Watcha bring a different DJ from the world’s elite to the decks for a guest slot. This week features Alex Arnout.

Saturday – The Stuff of Nightmares @ V&A Museum of Childhood

Childhood fairytales are typically filled with Princesses, Princes, love and happy endings but this exhibition aims to explore the darker side of our favourite childhood stories. ‘The Stuff of Nightmares’ exhibition is centered around the tale ‘Fundevogel’ by the Brothers Grimm, a dark twisted story far removed from the fairytales we know and love. If you want to immerse yourself in the darker side of innocent playthings get yourself to the V&A Museum of Childhood, just in time for Halloween!

Sunday – London Design Festival: The Dezeen Space

As part of London Design Festival, online magazine Dezeen has opened a pop up shop in the heart of trendy Shoreditch. This pop up shop features a gallery, store and video studio along with an exhibition from Dominic Wilcox. There is also a platform that will host a different installation daily from new designers. Make sure not to miss out, as today is the last day.

Monday – Carnivale Comedy Bin @ Carnivale

Nobody likes Mondays, so why not get your week off to a good start by having a good chuckle at Carnivale’s Comedy Bin? This weekly open mic comedy night features 10 – 15 acts.
