Widespread delays on train and overground services across South London were reported on Monday due to a woman being hit by a train at Forest Hill station.
The passenger managed to escape relatively unscathed, remaining conscious and breathing throughout and being taken to hospital only as a precaution. However, a full medical team including an air ambulance were sent to the scene.
The London Ambulance service told EastLondonLines they were called just before 3.20 to report on a person under a train at Forest Hill.
The overground was suspended between New Cross Gate on the routes to both West Croydon and Crystal Palace for more than two hours.
Southern rail services between London Bridge and London Victoria were delayed by up to an hour, and First Capital Connect trains running from London Bridge to East Croydon by around 20 minutes.
Normal service was resumed on all lines by 7pm.
The cause of the incident is not yet known.
