Crystal Palace FC has unveiled six possible logo designs to replace the original badge that has been the club’s emblem since 1994 – and fans are being called on to choose their favourite.

The designs have been put together by supporters and graphic designers in a bid to modernise the club’s image.

Mike Sinnerton, a spokesman for the club, told EastLondonLines: “The new owners want to update and modernise the club’s crest with a fresh design that will look great across our kits and merchandise. We want Palace fans to vote for the design that they feel best represents the club.”

Fans have already been commenting on online forums since the news was announced. One supporter from Surrey said: “[It] would be interesting if we had seven badges to vote for, six new ones and the current one. [Then] it would be interesting to see the results.”

But others seem in support of the club’s efforts.

Another forum commentator wrote: “We can’t keep the current one. We don’t own the copyright to it and it’s basically a part-hand drawn, part clip art mess. We have to have a new badge.”

Voting is open to season ticket holders, club members, half-season ticket holders and members of the 6 and 12 Packages, which give reduced matchday prices.

Fans have until February 1 to vote for their favourite. To vote email info@cpfc.co.uk with a list of your top three preferences and include your individual client number.
