Trains and roads across east London are slowly returning to normal as the rush-hour ends on the Monday following a weekend of snowfall and frost. The weather initially caused problems for travellers across east and south east London as TfL warned drivers to be careful. But TfL reassured commuters the city would be kept “open for business” throughout the snow.

The Met Office has issued a cold weather alert today for London and south east England, but no more snow is expected to fall this week. Ice is likely to be a hazard on roads and pavements and people are advised to be aware of the risk. The temperature today will reach 3 degrees centigrade, with lows of -3 degrees tonight.
