Comedians Jo Brand and Kevin Day are to take part in fundraiser for St Christopher’s Hospice in Crystal Palace.

Other famed comics, including Sean Lock, Alan Davies, Mark Steel and Seann Walsh, will also join Brand and Day at the event, which will be hosted at Selhurst Park, performing in a marquee on the pitch.

Crystal Palace football club endorsed the charity in August last year. A signed Crystal Palace shirt will be auctioned off before the team’s match with Peterborough United on Saturday, May 14, to mark the beginning of Help the Hospices Football Week, March 3-11.

St Christopher’s Hospice provides palliative care to those dying in Croydon, Lewisham, Bromley, Lambeth and Southwark free of charge. It was founded in 1967 by Cicely Saunders, whose work is considered the basis of modern hospice philosophy.

Liz Sowden, community fundraiser at St Christopher’s, said: “We are so grateful for all the support we have been shown this season by our local football club, and for the funds that have been raised by the club and the generous Eagles fans so far this season. We are thrilled by the announcement of Kevin Day and Jo Brand’s Comedy night and we would like to thank everyone involved in putting on this event to benefit St Christopher’s vital work. We hope to see you there for a fantastic evening.”

Tickets for the comedy night are on sale now; adults £20 adults, senior concession/students £15, and can be bought from the CPFC box office on 08712 000071 or boxoffice@cpfc.co.uk.
