A Catford woman has appeared in court today charged with breaking into the house of music tycoon Simon Cowell while wielding a broken brick.

Leanne Zaloumis, 29, of Brownhill Road, is accused of trespassing on Cowell’s West London property before smashing his bathroom window and hiding in his walk-in wardrobe. In addition to trespass, she has also been charged with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.

The incident took place at approximately 10.30 on Sunday night while Cowell was watching television, the prosecution alleges. They claim he heard a “loud noise” coming from his bathroom and then called his staff, who escorted him back to his bedroom.

Police found Zaloumis inside the mansion and took her to Notting Hill police station, according to the charge.

Zaloumis spoke only to confirm her name and address. She was remanded in custody at West London Magistrates’ Court for her case to be heard by a crown court judge
