A man has been charged with the murder of his 76-year old mother, who was found dead in Forest Hill last Saturday.

Daniel Coriat, 43, of no fixed address, appeared in Bromley Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of the killing. He was remanded in custody.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Serious Crimes Command launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body at an address in Taymount Grange, Forest Hill, on March 24.

Police officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the address just after midday, and found the woman with multiple injuries. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as blunt trauma and multiple injuries.

Although no formal identification has taken place, police said they were satisfied that the dead woman was Elizabeth Coriat, 76, of Taymount Grange, Forest Hill.
