Hoxton Soundgarden, Hackney

Taking over The Garage in Hoxton this new music and arts festival sees 14 bands and 9 different DJs performing over the weekend from the Friday to Sunday 12 August.

Those of you who are crafty should visit the Art, Design and Craft fair at the Claudia Jones Organisation. Illustrative art and hand crafted and decorated items are up for sale at the event.

Lewisham Summer Arts College 2012

Aimed at teenagers aged 13 – 19 years old, this free creative arts course covers film making, street dance and acting and is run by industry professionals.

Roald Dahl Week, Tower Hamlets

Entertain the kids at the Idea Store, which is holding Roald Dahl Week at their Bow branch with children’s classics including readings of ‘Fantastic Mr Fox!’ and screenings of Matilda ad the chance to paint a Giant BFG.
