Two stabbed, one shot in Catford attack

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident at Beckenham Hill Road in Catford on Tuesday afternoon.

Three men were found on the scene t 16:55 after the Metropolitan Police responded to reports of a disturbance. The men were taken to hospital, with two suffering from stab injuries and one being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.

All are in a stable condition, but one of the wounded men was released from hospital and has since been arrested.

The police are not releasing any more information at this time, but they have stated that a number of weapons were recovered from the scene, including a firearm.  They are also holding eight people in relation to the incident, having arrested ten people initially.

Detective Inspector Gill Barratt of Trident said: “We want to reassure the community that this an isolated incident and we are pursuing all lines of enquiry.

“We are speaking to a number of witnesses but we encourage residents in the area and the wider community to make contact with us to provide us with as much information as possible.”
