A fashion photographer was killed and another man seriously injured when they fell from an open window on French Place, Shoreditch last Thursday.

The incident happened after Mr Alexander, 28, and the unnamed man, believed to be a model, stumbled through the window during a London Fashion Week party. The two men were said to have fallen after a “messing around”.

Paramedics rushed to the scene but Mr Alexander is reported to have died instantly after hitting the pavement.

The other man sustained pelvic injuries after landing on a car parked outside the apartment and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Twitter has been awash with tributes to Mr Alexander who was a popular figure in London fashion circles and has been described as a talented photographer and an eccentric, well-liked character.

One fashion blogger said: “In shock after hearing the news about Peter Alexander. Such a lovely & talented photographer who will be greatly missed. Sad day for #LFW”

The party was being held by PR company Blow in the privately-owned flat and was attended by designers, models and artists celebrating the first day of London Fashion Week.

Director at Blow, Michael Oliveira-Salac told the Telegraph: ‘We are all very distressed by the incident. It is not an easy time. We have been provided little or no information as the police are still doing their investigation. Obviously our thoughts are with the families of the deceased and the injured man.”
