The Catford South Assembly is offering £8000 to support local community groups and events in the Catford South ward.

Funding may be allocated to activities such as community dance classes, youth groups, community events or a piece of equipment for a club or a community trip.

Between 2010 and 2012 the Assembly has given £39,250 to community projects including the Young Women’s Resource Centre, where the trust gave £2000 to support the centre’s counseling and advice service for children and young people.

The Assembly also gave £4000 to an Olympic community event at Abbotshall Playing Fields. The event, led by GCSE students from Conisborough College, ran across the weekend featuring various Olympic sporting events as well as music and food stalls.

The assembly will meet on 20 November at Conisborough College to consider all the proposals that have been put forward for a decision by public vote.
