Ragged Robbo’s groin pains test Lions’ defence

Millwall F.C. defender Paul Robinson is said to be suffering further medical problems following a shaky start to his season.Robinson – Robbo to his fans – underwent surgery early this summer for a hernia but had made a full recovery.

He had been back training with his fellow Lions in preparation for the 2012/13 Football League – but came off at half time against Burnley last Saturday with groin pain.

Sports physiotherapist Bobby Bacic told the club’s offical website that Robinson is having pelvic scans at a private practice in central London in order to source the problem.

Robinson missed a match against Bristol City on Tuesday, which saw the Lions draw 1-1, and will now have to sit out of the first home game of the season against Bolton this Saturday.

The Millwall defence is feeling the strain of losing one of its key players, with Karleigh Osborne’s playing this weekend also in doubt.

Millwall fan Tom Kenward tweeted: “Please recover quickly Robbo! We need you back #captainfantastic”
