Transformers star Shia LaBeouf, 26, was involved in two altercations at a New Cross pub on Wednesday evening.

The Los Angeles based actor was drinking in the Hobgoblin pub with his Nymphomaniac co star, model Mia Goth, 19.

Nymphomaniac, the latest Lars von Triers film has attracted a high level of controversy as it will feature real sex scenes.

Goth hails from Lewisham and the two had been visiting her mother, who accompanied them to the tavern opposite New Cross Gate station.

The A-Lister spent a number of hours drinking double dark rum and Cokes and posed for photographs with fans.

However LaBeouf’s mood changed when a man, believed to be a Goldsmiths student took his baseball cap as a prank.

When he refused to return the hat, a scuffle broke out between the two and they then had to be separated by fellow patrons.

According to the assistant manager at the Hobgoblin, who would only give his name as Bob, LaBeouf then stepped outside and approached two other men, believing one of them to be the culprit.

He said: “The guys outside were saying that they had nothing to do with it – it was somebody else… [Shia] had seen them from inside the pub and gone out to confront them.”

“I went out and asked what happened, and they said, ‘He just went for us, but we don’t know why. We didn’t do anything!’ They laughed and didn’t kick up a fuss or anything. It was over in a matter of moments.”

The actor made headlines twice in 2011 for fighting with fellow bar patrons in Los Angeles and Vancouver.

His driving licence was suspended between 2008 and 2009 after he crashed his car whilst under the influence.

LaBeouf’s night in New Cross ended when a manager from the pub directed him and Goth to the taxi rank across the road so they could find their way home.

No charges or arrests were made.
