The trial of a woman accused of racially abusing passengers on a Croydon tram has been adjourned for a fourth time.

Emma West, 34, a mother of two from New Addington, was charged with two racially aggravated public order offences with intent to cause fear or provocation of violence in 2011, and was due to appear in court on Wednesday January 2 2013.

However, the hearing has been delayed four times to allow for further psychiatric reports.

The woman was arrested after a video of the racist verbal attack on passengers of different nationalities on a tram from Croydon to Wimbledon was posted on YouTube on November 27, 2011, sparking 2.2 million YouTube hits.

A new date for the hearing is yet to be set.
