This Sunday saw the Boishakhi Mela festival transform Victoria Park into a Bangladeshi microcosmos. An enormous array of colours, food and performances attracted people from all over the borough to the park  to celebrate the biggest Bengali family festival in London.

With a variety of performers and colourful props, the grand Mela parade began at Weavers Fields along Bethnal Green Road and continued toward Victoria Park, where the festival went on from noon until 7.30pm.

Due to its growing popularity, the festival was moved to Victoria Park from the smaller Weavers Field, near Brick Lane.
