Second man arrested in connection with Clapton murder

A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of James Sweeney. The crime took place at Sweeney’s home on Jessam Avenue in Clapton on May 4.

Sweeney, 30, died of stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. He was a shop worker and was originally from Montserrat.

Another man, Jeremy Lewis, 29, of Enfield, has already been charged with the murder on May 8. He appeared in custody at Redbridge Magistrates Court the following day, and has been remanded.
