Two men arrested and released on bail in connection with a firearm seen outside a primary school in Kenley

Two men were arrested yesterday in connection with a suspected firearm possession after being seen speeding away in a car near a primary school in Kenley.

The two men who have yet to be named, reportedly aged 25 and 33, were arrested at an address in Peckham on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Both have been released on bail and have been ordered to return to a South London police station on 9 July pending further questioning.

The incident took place on Little Roke Road, near Roke Primary School Monday morning at approximately 11.45am.

This is Croydon Today reported an eye witness account that said, “the car drove down the road to the back entrance of Roke Primary School before realising it was a dead-end and turning around to escape.”

However the school did not make a statement on the incident, they confirmed that it took place near to the school.
