A teenager has been charged with murder following an investigation in to the fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Larmarni Hylton-Reid, Scotland Yard said last night.

Larmani was found at the junction of Homerton High Street and Kentworthy Road in Hackney, last Wednesday,  at 5.10pm. He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead at 6.30pm.

A 19-year-old man was also arrested for assisting an offender and has been bailed pending further investigation.

Larmani’s death has greatly shocked the local community. The Met’s Chief Inspector Andy Walker said last week: “It’s a really shocking incident so I can see why… local people are upset by this. But I would like to reassure people that this is an isolated incident.

Tributes to Larmani have flooded social media. One Facebook post said he was stabbed on the way to visit his mother for her birthday.
