A cyclist was injured yesterday in a crash involving a Silver Lexus car outside the Spread Eagle pub in Croydon Town Centre.

The 46-year-old man was taken to the Croydon University Hospital suffering arm injuries.

A witness said: “The cyclist was going round the corner as he was crossing, they crashed. He stayed face down in the road before the ambulance came.”

The crash caused traffic delays at the junction of Katharine Street and High Street as onlookers rushed to help the man before paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived.

The car driver was uninjured and no arrests have been reported.
