An All-Inclusive Sports Holiday Camp

Monday October 28- November 1, 8am-5pm

St Joseph’s Vale, Blackheath, SE3 OXX

St Matthews Academy presents a multi-sports holiday camp, offering a wide variety of outdoor activities including water sports as well as educational courses for all to enjoy. The camp is professionally designed and delivered by highly skilled elite athletes and national coaches.

The Jive Five at the Albany Centre

Deptford Discoveries: Vietnam

Deptford is home to a large ex-patriot Vietnamese community and as part of the ‘National Family Learning Network’ you are invited to   discover Vietnam. Its an opportunity to make delicious home-made Vietnamese rolls, watch a screening of the 1993 Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film and to be taught the beautiful art of Tai-Chi – this event is not to be missed!

Sports Development are working in partnership with Tower Hamlets Trojans and have organised a multi sports programme for all to enjoy. No need to book, just turn up on the day and play!

An Evening of Healing and Reconciliation

As part of this years Origins Festival of First Nations, a calming and detoxifying evening of truth, reconciliation and healing is to take place. Promising an inspiring evening of discussion, short films and music, all surrounding the processes of healing and reconciliation. A panel of experts will join, offering their insights and professional guidance. A musical performance from Indigie-Femme, a dynamic indigenous duo that echo stories though a beautiful twist of world beats and acoustic folk. Their powerful voices will be thought provoking while creating an extremely uplifting atmosphere. Perhaps this could be your answer to tackle those winter blues that are so quickly creeping upon us.

The Secret Garden Concert

Wednesday October 30, 7.30pm

The highly acclaimed concert staging of the well known story of The Secret Garden will be hosted at Fairfield Halls this month. Promising an evening of outstanding acting and a concert that will ‘open the door to a world of secrets’.

Stained Glass Window Workshop

Wednesday October 30, 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm

Central Library, Croydon Clocktower, Katharine St, Croydon CR9 1ET ‎

A day to get those creative juices flowing, by designing your very own beautiful stained glass window. The event was inspired by a beautiful object that can be viewed at the Museum of Croydon; a stunning stained glass window named the ‘H Bacon & Son Window-1852-1900’. H Bacon and Son were a firm of builders and decorators and the stained glass window was used in order to promote their services. A day intwining creativity as well as local history; a perfect way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.

Half-Term Holiday Activities at the Geffrye Museum

As part of the half-term holiday activities, the Geffrye Museum have organised an array of creative events for all to enjoy, including: arts, crafts, baking and seasonal decoration making. Tuesday October 29 will be a day of making bright autumn leaf crowns along with the chance to bake some delicious seasonal treats.

Family Arts Week at the Arcola Theatre

As part of the Family Arts Festival, Arcola Theatre will play host to an array of events across the half-term holiday. A wing A Prey A Song – Migrations Project

Wednesday October 30, 2.30pm-7.30pm

An inspiring and original new play by the highly acclaimed and award winning playwright Ros Martin, directed by Olusola Oyeleye, will be premiered this coming Wednesday. The play will be sure to capture your undivided attention with its wonderfully animated drawings of birds in flight by artist Mike Stuart, so beautifully illustrating the theme of migration.
