An ambulance burst into flames in South Croydon at about 10:30am this morning.
London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene but part of the vehicle was left seriously damaged.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We can confirm that one of our ambulances caught fire this morning on Selsdon Park Road in Croydon.”
“No patients were on board the ambulance at the time and the crew did not need any medical help.”
It is not thought that there were any secondary parties involved in the incident and the London Ambulance Service confirmed the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
