A heavy layer of fog has settled over the capital as commuters awoke this morning.
Yesterday, the Met Office issued a warning of fog for London and South East England: “The public should be aware of the risk of locally dense fog patches and the potential for disruption to transport.”
“Visibility is expected to be below 100 meters in places, and perhaps lower than 50 meters locally. The poorest visibility should improve by 10am, but fog may linger locally into the afternoon.”
The purpose of the Met Office is to “warn the public and emergency responders of severe and hazardous weather which has the potential to cause danger to life or widespread disruption through our national severe weather warning service.”
