A man was stabbed in the neck, back and arm after an attack in Hackney on Sunday.

Officers were called to Garnham Close, Stoke Newington on December 8 at around 2.40am, following reports of gunshots being fired.

When Metropolitan Police officers arrived they found no evidence of an incident and no evidence that a firearm had been discharged.

Officers were later alerted to a man in his 20s who was admitted to a north London hospital with multiple stab wounds to his body.

A Met spokesperson confirmed they believe he sustained the injuries in the Garnham Close area and that the incidents are linked.

The man has since been discharged from hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

Detectives from Trident Gang Crime Command are investigating.
