A Croydon man has pleaded not guilty at The Old Bailey today, after being charged with the murder of his girlfriend.

Kane Boyce, 33 from Erith, was charged with the murder of the his 20-year-old girlfriend, Paula Newman, after she died following a fall from a black BMW in New Addington on November 11.

Police arrested Boyce when paramedics were called to a house in Dunsfold Way the day after the incident.

Newman, who was found unconscious at the house, was taken to Croydon University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The results of a post-mortem examination identified her cause of death as head injuries.

Boyce, believed to be the driver of the car, was then bailed until mid-January pending further investigation.

He will now stand trial for Newman’s murder in June.
