Three brothers were sentenced last week at the Old Bailey for the death of a man who jumped from a window to escape being attacked.

Valodia 35 , Jurius 33 , and  39-year-old Viktoras Tarasov who lived in Croydon,  denied killing 37- year-old  Pawel Pacholak in January last year. They were sentenced to seven years each for manslaughter, with additional charges for breeching bail and trying to pervert the course of justice.

Last year, an argument broke out when Pacholak  was accused of stealing Jurius’ mobile phone while staying at a friend’s house with Viktoras.  Jurius and Valodia were present at the time with all three brothers heavily drunk.

The Tarasov brothers  started beating up Pacholak. In an attempt to escape, Pacholak hid in the upstairs bathroom and tried to flee by secretly jumping from the window.  He jumped to his death with multiple injuries to his face, head and body.

Pacholak’s bloodied body was found slumped against a wall in Albert Carr Gardens, Streatham, in the early hours of Sunday morning January 13, 2013.

Police investigating the case  later found out that  Jurius’ mobile phone had not been stolen but had been lost earlier that evening.
