A 21-year-old man has been arrested in east London, on suspicion of helping another in a terrorist act.

The suspect was held down by counter-terrorist police at a residential address in Hackney at around 6am Today (Wednesday).

He was arrested on suspicion of assisting another to commit acts of terrorism, or engaging in any conduct for the committing of such acts, by facilitating another to travel abroad.

Police are searching the Hackney address, whilst the suspect remains in custody in a central London Police Station.

This is the seventh Syria related terror arrest this month. Four London men were arrested for terrorism threats on October 7 and a man and women were detained in suspicion of Syria terror offences, last week.
