A competition has been launched for young aspiring fashion designers as part of Croydon’s business month.

The Made in Croydon competition is organized by UR-iD, a customized print and design company based in Croydon. They are working in partnership with Croydon Council to offer exposure to Croydon artistic residents.

The competition invites designers aged 30 and under from any academic background to create and present a brand. The winner will be able to sell their merchandise on UR-iD’s website. Products will include hoodies, T-shirts and caps. For one year, the winner will receive royalties for each item carrying their design.

Brand manager Mehmet Aray said: “We are partnering with Croydon Council to offer young designers a platform for exposure. UR-iD’s website gets over ten thousand hits a month so this is a big opportunity for young designers”.

Finalists will be invited to the Croydon Emporium to present their ideas to a panel of judges.

They will include UR-iD.co.uk Brand Manager Mehmet Aray himself, Dj Talent from Talent Records and Actress Shivani Seth.

The competition closes on 31 October. If you are interested to participate click here.
