The excitement of the New Year is fading and people are already starting to break their resolutions. As the month is half over, the January Blues are in full swing for many people. We’ve picked events for the whole week to bring some excitement back into your life.

Jan 16 – Jan 22: The Rolling Stones: Crossfire Hurricane

Location: Croydon Fairfield Halls

The Rolling Stones began in London in 1962, where they took the "rock ’n’ roll" lifestyle to a whole new level. Come and celebrate 50 years of the Stones by watching a documentary highlighting their time in the spotlight and the band’s iconic music.

Jan 20: Julian Speroni “The Gloves Are Off”

Location: Croydon Fairfield Halls

Julian Speroni, the Crystal Palace goalkeeper, sits down with fans to discuss his career. There will be a 60-minute question & answer session during the second half of the show. It starts at 7:30 pm so make sure to book your tickets in advance.

Jan 17: Pinstripe Suit

Location: The Nightjar

Sit back and relax with a night of music performed by Pinstripe Suit, led by London-based jazz singer and pianist Robin Phillips. The band has both female and male vocals and a brass section. They specialise in classic swing from the 20th century.

Jan 17: Masterclass Detox Special: New Year New You!

Location: Made in Hackney Local Food Kitchen

Are you still feeling sluggish after all of those holiday parties filled with food and spirits? Well you can get back on track with this detox class lead by nutritionists and chefs, Rose and Tamara. They will help teach you how to detox in a safe and healthy way, to get help your body function to the best of its ability.

Jan 15 – Jan 25: Lulu

Location: The London Theatre – New Cross

A night at the theatre is the perfect way to escape from reality for a few hours. Join the cast of Lulu to follow a woman’s journey through love and marriage. The play has many twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire performance.

Jan 20: CoLab Finale

Location: Blackheath Halls

Trinity Laban presents a night to celebrate dance and music. The event is free, and it will begin at 7:00 pm. Just make sure you arrive earlier to get a seat to enjoy the show!

Jan 15 – Apr 6: Adventures of the Black Square

Location: Whitechapel Gallery

This exhibition celebrates 100 years of modern and abstract art with more than 100 pieces from various artists from around the world. It originated with the work of Kazimir Malevich’s Black Square and it has flourished into a new form of art.

Jan 18: One Festival 2015

Location: The Space

This is the third year for the One Festival and it continues to grow each year. It features a variety of monologues and performances from theatre professionals. Sunday night will be the last night of this festival, so if you want to see emerging talents in acting, writing and directing make your way to The Space.
