Digital Shoreditch opens for the fourth year running today, welcoming more than 480 leading industry speakers to share knowledge and achievements.

The festival will run from May 11 to May 24 and participants can expect a range of events including meet-ups, hackathons, workshops and parties.

The speakers of this year’s event include BBC producer, Jon Aird, and representatives from SapientNitro and Holition.

Shoreditch Town Hall will host the majority of events with various venues across Shoreditch staging parties and open house sessions.

Digital Shoreditch is a not-for-profit, grassroots, industry-led community, which “celebrates outstanding work, shares ideas and looks forward to the future.”

The first Digital Shoreditch was held in 2011 with small workshops, community run events and open studios. The festival has since gone from strength to strength with a steady increase in the number of participants, companies and speakers between 2012 and 2013.

Director, James Allsopp said that they have been “blown away by the interest in Digital Shoreditch.”

An opening party with DJs and live music will be held at Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch on Monday May 11 from 7pm to 11.30pm.
