Croydon man charged with murder after hit-and-run

A Croydon man appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today charged with murder following the death of 42-year-old Thomas Rossiter in a hit-and-run incident.

The incident took place mid-afternoon on July 4. Mr Rossiter was allegedly dragged under the car of Erasmus Ahwoi for 100 metres. He later died at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford.

Ahwoi, 29, from Addiscombe, Croydon, was arrested on Friday in Brixton.

Ahwoi has been remanded in custody until a plea and case management hearing on October 1, with a provisional trial set for January 4, 2016.
