Police are hunting three men who stabbed and robbed an elderly man as he washed his car.

The victim, aged 80, was washing his car in his driveway when he was approached by the men at approximately 9:50am on Wednesday, September 16.

They approached him on the driveway and attacked the man, punching him and knocking him to the floor. He suffered stab injuries to his hand.

The men stole the victim’s phone, wallet and watch before the three men fled on foot towards Green Lane in Thornton Heath.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

The three men are described as black, wearing hooded tops or jackets.

Detectives from Croydon’s Burglary and Robbery Squad are investigating.
