Shopkeepers in east London told how they feared for their lives after hearing a man being gunned down in the street outside.
The 25-year-old died shortly after being shot in Chatsworth Road, Homerton, at about 2pm on Saturday. He is understood to have staggered into a nearby butcher’s shop, where he collapsed and died despite attempts to save him.
A man in his 20s is being held on suspicion of murder at an east London police station.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 1.15pm to reports of shots fired in Chatsworth Road.
“Officers, specialist firearms officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene and found a man with injuries consistent with being shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A post mortem-examination will be scheduled in due course. Next of kin have not been informed.
“Officers arrested a man in his 20s close to the scene on suspicion of murder. He currently remains in custody at an east London police station.”
