Police have released a photograph of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on a bus in Croydon.

The assault took place at around 4pm on July 9 as the girl traveled on a Route 45 bus between Hooley and Coulsdon South.

Before leaving the bus and running home, the victim was able to take a picture on her phone of the man alleged to have committed the attack. The police have described him as an Asian man, between the ages of 25 and 30 years, around 5ft 7 to 5ft 9ins tall, with black hair and stubble.

Anyone with any information regarding the man from the image have been asked to contact Detective Constable Goodman on 07770 315678 or by dialling 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 183831.

The assault comes after the Metropolitan Police Service launched a joint campaign with Transport for London called ‘Report it to stop it’ which aims to increase the voice of those who are on the receiving end of unwanted sexual behaviour on public transport.
