Police have released CCTV images of four men they want to question after a sales assistant was assaulted in a petrol station in Wapping.

The Texaco Garage employee was hit on the head at around 6pm on February 11 after petrol station staff confronted three men who they believed were responsible for a previous theft.  A fourth man waited outside.

The employee did not require hospital treatment.

Police described all four men as Asian and of slim build.

The first was in his late teens, wearing a black jacket, jeans, black trainers and a grey baseball cap.

The second man was wearing a black hooded top, a quilted jacket, blue tracksuit trousers and carrying a black bag.

The third wore blue jeans, black trainers, a black hat and a beige top. He was also carrying a beige bag.

The final suspect, who stood outside the petrol station at the time of the assault, wore a maroon jacket, black trousers and white trainers.

Police are appealing for anyone who recognises these men to contact Tower Hamlet’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) via 101
