The Metropolitan Police are offering up to £20,000 as a reward to anyone with information about a series of violent attacks in Deptford and Peckham.

New CCTV footage was broadcasted on BBC’s Crimewatch on March 10. The footage shows the suspect attacking his second victim in Hanover Park in Peckham on December 13 2015.

Investigators hope that increasing the reward will lead to information that could help identify, arrest and prosecute the individual responsible for the attacks.

Detective Chief Inspector Zena Marshall said: “Anyone watching [the CCTV footage] cannot fail to be shocked by its brutality, and therefore understand the need to catch the person responsible.

“I would urge anyone with any information on who the attacker may be, or anyone with any information about the attacks, to come forward and help our investigation.”

All three assaults targeted lone women who were attacked from behind in the Peckham and Deptford area.

Police say they can’t exclude a sexual motive as “the victims had clothing removed” in two of the incidents.

The first attack was on Friday December 4 on Commercial Way in Peckham. The 31-year-old victim injured her head.

Police said the second victim, also in her 30s, was “assaulted to the point of unconsciousness” and was found by a passer-by in Hanover Park on December 13.

The third and latest victim was seriously injured to her head and face. The attack occurred on New Year’s Day on Creekside in Deptford.
