False alarm for passengers at Dalston Junction

Around 250 panicked passengers were evacuated from their train due to a fire this morning (June 6) near Dalston Junction station.

Alarmed passengers thought then train was on fire when smoke made it’s way into the station.

The fire was under control by 9.30 a.m, and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Overground services were halted as a result of the nearby blaze. Trains between Highbury and Islington and Shadwell were suspended, and severe delays were caused on the rest of the line.

Services resumed this morning at 10.30 a.m.
