Pedestrian killed in Deptford

A man has died after being hit by a car in Deptford on June 4.

Police are appealing for information and witnesses to continue their investigation.

Police alongside London Ambulance Service were called to the scene as a grey VW Golf reportedly ran over a 54-year-old man on the Creek Road bridge.

The victim, Paul Weidlich, was taken to a south-east hospital where he died from his injuries. Creek Road bridge was closed while officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command carried out their investigations.

The driver, aged 31, stopped at the scene and has been arrested by police. He is currently being questioned and held in custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
