Police release footage of racial outburst in Bethnal Green

Police have released CCTV footage following an alleged racist attack in east London.

The video shows a woman hurling racial abuse at staff outside an Asian grocery shop in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets.

Officers received a call at 12.15pm on Sunday June 26 to report a racially aggravated assault.

The woman, who is believed to be in her mid twenties, was shouting at the Fresh Go workers after they refused to sell her alcohol because she was drunk.

She then started to throw goods on the floor and  blocked the doorway preventing any customers from going in or leaving the shop.

Police described the woman to be 5ft 5in tall and wearing a grey t-shirt, black trousers, white trainers and a chequered shawl.

She also had a shoulder-length black hair and wore a black-rimmed glasses.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who has witnesses this incident or recognise this woman.
