A man has been jailed after he stabbed a father and son in a brawl outside a pub in Croydon in September.

Abel Kinganga, 21, of Streatham Road Mithcham, was sentenced for seven years and eight months after confessing to wounding with intent, causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon at Croydon Crown Court on Monday (October 24).

The court heard he had attacked Brian Woolacott with a knife outside the Man on the Moon pub in Headley Drive at around 1am.

Brian Woolacott’s son had three of his fingers cut as he tried to protect his father from Kinganga.

The injuries followed a large fight that had broken out between Kinganga’s brother Simon and another guest at a private event taking place in the pub.

Kinganga also admitted a charge of drug dealing heroin and cocaine in Norwich between Christmas Eve last year and January 29.
