The man murdered last Friday in Croydon has been named.

Akeem Moore, 22, was fatally shot at point-blank range in front of his friend’s house on October 7.

The 22-year-old father of three, was shot in the head while talking to his friends in Eastney Road, Croydon on Friday night.

A friend of Mr Moore told the Standard: “He was just a great guy, a talented musician and sportsman who was really popular around the area. We are all in shock. We don’t know why anyone would want to do this to him.”

Neighbours heard two shots at around 11.25pm which they mistakenly taken for fireworks. Then they heard Mr Moore’s friends screaming out for help.

When the ambulance arrived, Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.

Metropolitan Police started a murder investigation as a result, but the killer has still not identified yet.

The detective who is in charge of the case is appealing for people who may have witnessed the incident in the area at around 11.25pm.
