Wolf Alice, Peace, Swim Deep, and Black Honey are among the indie bands set to play a fundraising gig for refugees.

The event, Bands 4 Refugees, will take place on December 12 at Kamio in Shoreditch.

Ellie Rowsell, lead singer of north London’s rising stars Wolf Alice, will spearhead the gig. Their debut album, My Love Is Cool, was released last June to critical acclaim.

Wolf Alice said: “We have gathered a bunch of pals for an amazing night of covers in aid of the current refugee crisis.”

They will be joined by Superfood, Years & Years, Slaves, Bloody Knees, Slaves, and Spector to complete the covers gig line-up.

Wolf Alice added: “We are currently living in a refugee crisis unseen since the Second World War. The UN estimates that 63.5 million people are now refugees, seeking asylum, or internally displaced.”

The bands will play a variety of cover songs across the night.

All proceeds of ticket revenue will be donated to Help Refugees, a grassroots, humanitarian organisation. Each ticket is £12.50.
